Detroit EMS
Detroit Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is one of the busiest pre-hospital transportation systems in the United States. Faculty from the Detroit Receiving Hospital Emergency Department provide leadership and medical direction for Detroit EMS, which annually receives more than 128,000 911 calls and transports more than 65,000 patients to area emergency departments. All EMS personnel receive training in Weapons of Mass Destruction and are certified in FEMA IS 100, 200, 700 and 800. Detroit EMS was the lead agency for coordinating the pre-hospital response for Superbowl XL.
